“Harry ... A huge thanks, truly, to you and all the other volunteers who are indexing our pictures at the National Archives.  It must be a mountain of work. It’s amazing that through your efforts, and FOLD3’s generous support, we are able to find our pictures and captions after all these years without leaving home.   But more importantly, your work honors our mission and those we lost.  I, for one, am grateful to know that future generations will be able to more easily search our images and see how it was.  Hope to meet up with you in the Archives soon to thank you in person!”  - Paul (pberk@berks.com)

Paul,

Hi, I'm working as a volunteer at the National Archives. Our current
project is the annotation of the 39k Army Vietnam photos that are in the
National Archives collection.

In partnership with FOLD3 (
www.fold3.com) the archives has had all the
photos scanned. We volunteers at the Archives are keying the caption
information accompanying each photo into a searchable - online database. At present we are about 50% complete.

As part of the partnership agreement FOLD3 has made the complete collection photos available at no charge "FREE" on their web site.
Here is the link that will take you directly to the ARMY Photo collection:

https://www.fold3.com/browse/252/hURf3JqG6

The searchable database includes: Photographer's name, Unit, date, location and all other information that accompany each image.
